SIDKick Pico 2350 by Frenetic for the C64, C64U, and C128

The SIDKick pico (“SKpico”) is a direct replacement for the SID 6581/8580 sound chips in the C64 and C128 computers (as well as the Commodore 64 Ultimate) and can also emulate the SFX Sound Expander (FM). It was developed as a cost-effective alternative to other replacement solutions without compromising on quality.

Our SidKick Pico (SidKick Pico 2350 DAC) is officially licensed by Frntc, and we are pleased to offer and support this module.

The emulation is based on an enhanced version of reSID 0.16 (incorporating parts of reSID 1.0 as well as some extras) and also includes several unique features:

• Dual 6581 and/or 8580 emulation, or 6581/8580 plus FM emulation.
• Advanced SID filter settings and 19 measured 6581 filter curves.
• Address of the second SID at $d400, $d420, $d500, $d420 + $d500 simultaneously, $de00, $df00 (no $d500 on the C128) or at any address when an external chip-select signal is used (e.g., for the C64 Ultimate or on Ultimate-64 boards).
• Paddle/mouse support with optional anti-jitter function.
• Integrated configuration menu (launch with “SYS 54301″/”SYS 54333,” even from C128 mode).
• Integrated PRG launcher (“SYS 54333.0,” etc., or via the menu); PRGs can be integrated into the firmware or flashed via the configuration menu

Plug & Play:

• No soldering required.
• The latest firmware is installed.
• Out with the old SID, in with the SIDKick Pico.
• The included cables can be installed, but this is not required.

Functions:

• A direct replacement for the 6581 and the 8580.
• ReSid emulation with an additional Digiboost option for the 8580.
• Built-in DAC for crisp, clear sound.
• Multicolored LED for even more SID disco flair!
• Stereo and FM options, including stereo separation.
• Raspberry Pi Pico 2350 chip and DAC integrated onto the circuit board
• Integrated configuration menu (SYS54301) and the ability to add additional programs.

Scope of delivery:

• Available in “Basic” and “Ultimate” versions
• “Ultimate” comes with an adapter board (including jumper cables) that allows you to install a full-featured stereo SID and FM option into the secondary SID socket of the Commodore 64 Ultimate.
• The Basic version comes with pre-installed pin headers and 2 Grabber cables for stereo configurations in devices with a single SID socket.
• Fully assembled, programmed with the latest firmware, and tested. “Plug & Play”!
• A USB-C programming adapter and jumpers for easy firmware upgrades are included.
